Tips and Tricks – Kenwood TH-D75A

On the Kenwood TH-D75A, you can put Band B, the lower display, into Memory Channel mode while Band A remains in whatever mode you want.

1. Press [A/B] until Band B is the active/selected band. The TH-D75A uses [A/B] to select which band you are controlling.
2. Press [MR].
3. Band B should now display one of your programmed memory channels.
4. Rotate the ENC knob to move through the memory channels.

Kenwood confirms that pressing [MR] enters Memory Channel mode. By default, it allows recall from all memory groups.

So you can have something like:

Band A
144.390 APRS

Band B
147.045 W3PIE
or whatever memory channel name you programmed.

If you only want a particular group on Band B

Once Band B is in Memory mode, press and hold ◀ or ▶ to select a memory group. For example, you could make one group contain only your local repeaters.

Important: use a normal press of [A/B] to select Band B. Do not press [F] + [A/B], because that changes between dual-band and single-band display modes.
